When I get ready to pray for someone, I want to make sure I prepare myself so my prayers will be heard. I make sure my Armor is on and I clear the way so my prayers will not be hindered. Below is the Scripture I use to make sure every piece of armor is on, according to scripture. And, below is listed my preparation before I begin to Pray.
For we Wrestle not against Flesh and Blood, but against Principalities, against Powers, against the Rulers of the Darkness of this World, against Spiritual Wickedness in High Places.
Wherefore, take unto you the Whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to Withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to Stand.
Stand therefore, having your Loins Girt about with Truth, and having on the Breastplate of Righteousness; and your Feet Shod with the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace; Above All, taking the Shield of Faith, wherewith ye shall be able to Quench all the Fiery Darts of the Wicked. And take the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. (I suggest reading the whole chapter)
Ephesians Chapter 6:11-17
Kings James Version, Holy Bible
I Make Sure Each Day to Make this Declaration:
- I Renounce all Evil
- I Forgive Anyone that I Feel Anything Against
- I Repent of Known or Unknown Sins
- I Place Myself Under Submission to God.
All of this came into play as my husband was taken to the emergency department of the Hospital with the symptoms of stroke affecting his speech. I had given him an aspirin when he came in from 90* weather with a little garble to his speech.
He was sent to the Neurology Floor, after being stabilized, and kept there from Sunday to Friday morning when the Surgeon could schedule him for Carotid Artery Surgery ( to Clean His Right Carotid Artery). The Surgeon removed about 6″ of vein from his Right, Inner Thigh to use as a patch to his Right Carotid Artery. The Surgeon said, “It was a difficult surgery.”
When they said it was time to start surgery prep, I was asked to go to the Surgery Lobby. I had felt I should fast that morning and it was the first time I had fasted since I had blood sugar problems in February. I started to eat 3 times as I felt like my blood sugar was dropping, but, I felt impressed of God not to partake until my husband was O.K.
I found a place off to myself, against an outer wall, and began to prepare for warfare as described above. I chose 7 people who I knew could reach heaven, and texted what was going on, and to get the Armor of God on, get their War Boots on, Draw their Swords, and ready themselves to battle. Let’s go to battle!
I pulled up my Bible App on my phone and began to search where Holy Spirit wanted me to go and I landed in the Psalms. I began to text the scriptures in the Psalms as Holy Spirit guided me, (placed thoughts of a particular chapter in my mind). I was sure my husband knew God so I did not worry about that, I just followed Holy Spirit as each scripture came to mind.
I thought, some people may not want all these scriptures texted to them, so I chose 3 people to text, my sister, son, and former customer. My son was on a plane, unbeknownst to me, and I thought he was blocking my text, as it would not go through, so I only texted two. He was not blocking…he received them when he landed. I made sure not to get offended or God would not hear me as I prayed.
As tears poured down my face, I went through each scripture, praying each one; then I came to Psalm 91 and stayed there, as I felt The Peace of God come upon me that all was well. I closed my phone and sat quietly for about 30 to 45 minutes. The doctor called me into the conference room and said, “My husband was fine, but it was a difficult surgery and I could see him in about an hour.”
After an hour, they came and got me to take me to ACCU (Acute Coronary Care Unit) to see my husband. I went in to see him and he started telling me about a Nightmare that he had. He was terrified, and weeping as he told me his story. I had to stand and wipe the tears as he was sobbing and had a nose piece that delivered oxygen, and he was wired with IV’s so that he could not use his hands as both arms were being utilized with the IV’s. A male nurse was going around the bed and observing the computers as my husband was talking to me. He sobbed for more than an hour as he relayed his story.
My husband began to relay his nightmare: He was in Hell, people were everywhere, Teenagers, Young people, and Old people. He said, “Hell seemed full, but not full as more people were coming, but no children.” He said, “He was chained and fire was everywhere and people were in fire, but not burned up, and he could feel the pain of the fire constantly.”
He said, “People were gnashing their teeth and even he, was gnashing his teeth.” He said, “The air was like sweat and real sticky, hard to breathe.” I really paid attention when he said, “He saw a 1st cousin of his down there that walked in front of him, but would not look at him, even when he called his name.” He said, “Demons jeered at him and told him he would never leave.” He told them, “Yes, he would,” and I said, “How did you get out?” He said, “He did not know.” He kept thanking Jesus, through his sobs, for giving him a second chance. He said, “He had never seen anything like it”.
He said, “I thought your brother was crazy.” I said, you did, why? He said, “My brother was always talking about Jesus, so, I just went along so he would be quiet. I thought you and others had all that Jesus stuff in your minds. I was faking it just to go along. I thought I was all right.” He looks at me and says, “A lot of people are faking it too.” Then he would start Praising Jesus again that He had given him a second chance and he would just sob again, and I would blot the tears.
I thought it was the anesthetic until he told me he saw his first cousin. That made my ears perk up. My husband was led to the Lord by a doctor when his first wife died, but he was brought up with a lot of superstition and the occult, so, I don’t know how much he knew about Jesus. He said, “He could not wait to get out of church when we went, but I didn’t worry about it as he did not come up like I did, so, I did not understand that he may not have understood properly what belief in Christ meant. Through the years of being exposed to Jesus and His ways, seeds were being sown to thoroughly save him.
I was praying as Holy Spirit led me in the Surgery Lobby and would text the scriptures as I was led. My sister sent me the scriptures in the order I texted them to her and they are all in the Psalms. I will list them below:
- Psalm 47:1-9
- Psalm 91:1-16
- Psalm 27:1-14
- Psalm 25:1-22, This is the one that I believe was the, Interceding for my Husband, scripture that brought him out of Hell. He could not tell me how he got out.
- Psalm 46:1-3
- Psalm 91, the entire Psalm is the last place I went. I stayed there with peace, that all was well, and whatever happened, all was well.
If you notice, I was wielding the Sword of the Spirit, which is The Word Of God. I started with scripture that, Thank and Praise God, Remind Him of how He takes care of His own, and how we Can Trust Him to care for us and what we care about. Then in Psalm 25, I began to intercede to God, for my Husband.
I remember thinking, why did Holy Spirit want me to read this scripture, as I am saved and know that I am saved, but, I prayed it anyway. All turned out well, and he was released by Sunday. He is doing very well and his stroke, in his speech, is nonexistent. I am amazed, his speech is the same as it was and maybe, a little more fluid. The stroke only affected his speech and nothing else.
I have never ever seen a person more terrified and this man was in the 82nd Airborne Infantry, and, set up the perimeter line for the 1st Marine Division in Vietnam, and has seen some horrible things. He said, “He did not fear much, but being down in Hell terrified him.” He said, “He had never seen anything like it.”
He did not want to go back and said, “No one should go there as they would never get out…ever!” He kept thanking Jesus, between his sobs, for giving him a second chance. I have to say, I have never seen him so upset, and I have been married to him for 32 years. He kept saying, “I don’t know how I got out. I just thank Jesus for giving me a second chance!”
He has already seen the Neurologist and she is amazed as well. Keep Praying for Him! His sutures are nice, light pink, and itches…a good sign! He sees his doctor, who did his surgery, in a few weeks…I’ll keep everyone updated! Thanks, for all the prayers…I told the surgeon we were blowing up Facebook with prayer for them.
